Seasons of Emergence: Exploring the Archetypal Life Wheel

We all move through seasons of emergence in our lives—times of rising energy and curiosity, of nurture and creation, of discernment and harvest, of surrender and renewal. Yet, we don’t always have frames of reference or community ritual spaces to hold us in times of transformation.

There are four key archetypes for the Wheel of Life: Maiden, Mother (or Lover), Maga (or Medicine Woman), and Crone—rhythms of life that touch into the feminine aspects of each of us. From a masculine perspective, we can touch into the Initiate (or Youth), the Warrior (or Lover), Magus (or King), and Sage Elder. All aspects live in each of us, regardless of gender.

Offered through Nectara, this 90-minute experiential workshop, will explore the four feminine archetypal directions as mirrors for our own journeys (also touching briefly on the masculine counterparts). Using reflection, embodied sensing, writing, and dialogue, we’ll locate ourselves on the wheel and listen for what each season might be teaching us about our current thresholds.

Bringing a question you’re sitting with could provide an opportunity to get insights into a specific circumstance. There's no need to have any further knowledge of these archetypes. We’ll explore them through gentle teaching and experiential exploration. All are welcome, regardless of gender or stage of life.
